When you think of Hawaii, the word Aloha probably comes to mind; aside from its dual meaning of hello and good-bye it reminds us of the “Aloha Spirit”, which in simplistic terms means a state of mind – that will extend warmth and good wishes to others without expecting anything in return. It is the belief that every person is important despite our differences; which makes socialization and peer interaction a crucial component in developing the family ties that bind us together. Creating a sober support system is vital in maintaining healthy relationships.
OHANA – THE HAWAIIAN FAMILY
To the Hawaiian natives the word Ohana is defined as “family” and this means that no family member is left behind. Here at Ohana Palms we invite you to be a part of our intricate family and to grow along spiritual lines that will help restore those intangibles that make us who we are – the mind, body and spirit.
My message to you my friend is to give sobriety a chance and remember the promises of Alcoholics Anonymous. My decision to create this treatment center is in dedication to a very dear friend that we lost, his memory will always be with me and here at Ohana Palms. So my friends, take that big step and we will be there to greet you with open arms. Come join us as we celebrate life!
